This Call to Action is the result of a series of collective conversations during the Postnatal rEvolution Summit.The document outlines calls for improving postpartum care and emphasises the need for systemic reforms to support women’s physical, mental, and emotional health during the critical postpartum period.
A Movement in Three Phases
Expert Talks (Nov–Dec 2024)
A series of powerful lectures by global thought leaders like Robin Lim, Pam England, and Ingrid Bayot laid the foundation. Covering historical context, mental health, physiological care, and cultural narratives, these talks ignited a much-needed conversation about the needs of mothers and families after birth.
Dialogue Forum (Online)
Interactive virtual forums invited participants to reflect, exchange ideas, and share lived experiences. Central questions explored the realities and gaps in postnatal care, the lessons of history, and bold visions for a healthier society.
In-Person Summit Day (1 February 2025 – Amsterdam)
Hosted at the International Institute for Research and Education (IIRE) Conference Center, this gathering brought the community together for real-time co-creation. Guided by keynote speaker Franka Cadée, attendees participated in round tables and working groups focused on:

* Social and practical support

* Workplace and policy dynamics
Call to Action
The In-person Summit Day concluded with setting the foundations of a collective Call to Action, aiming to transform maternal care through community-driven insights and cross-sector collaboration.

We demand a transformative shift in postpartum care that prioritizes maternal health and well-being, recognizing that the first year is critical for both mothers and their children, and ensuring that every mother receives continued comprehensive postpartum support.
