In-Person Summit Day at the Conference Centre of the International Institute for Research and Education Amsterdam

Saturday, 1st February 2025

We are guests at the conference center of the International Institute for Research and Education (IIRE) providing activists and scholars worldwide with opportunities for research and education in three locations: Amsterdam, Islamabad and Manila.

Since 1982, when the Institute opened in Amsterdam, its main activity has been the organisation of courses. Their seminars and study groups deal with all subjects related to the emancipation of the world’s oppressed and exploited. It has welcomed hundreds of participants, most participants have come from developing countries. The IIRE has become a prominent centre for the development of critical thought and exchange between activists.

How to get there

Please note: If you are traveling from abroad, you can also get a discount price. Please contact us at

The IIRE’s modern conference centre is located in the Indische buurt, the heart of Amsterdam’s fastest-growing neibourhood Zeeburg. It is just 15 minutes from downtown by bike or public transport. It is also easily accessible by car and public transport. Parking your car in Amsterdam is expensive so we suggest to take public transport as much as possible.

From Amsterdam Station Muiderpoort
Walk to Lombokstraat for 15 minutes
Travel by car:
Navigate on the address of IIRE, which is 5 minutes off the A10 highway with exit 114 Zeeburg. In the streets around the conference center, you can park for €5 per hour plus good luck for an available parking spot. If you want to have more guarantees, use the parking app Park Bee to reserve a parking max 15 walk from the IIRE. A cheaper but further option is P&R Zeeburg 2 (€13 for 24 hours). This parking is next to the highway A10 (exit 114 Zeeburg).
To go from the parking to IIRE, you can either take bus 37 with stop Molukkenstraat and then 8 min walk (15 min total) or with tram 26 (Centraal Station) to stop Rietlandpark. Then 15 min walk to IIRE (total 21 min)
