Online and Local Dialogue Forums
16-17th January 2025During the Dialogue Forum of this Postnatal rEvolution Summit, we get to work with each other. Birth professionals, doulas, researchers, policy makers, yoga teachers, parents or psychologists; you are welcome to share your insights and ideas on the fourth trimester. Collectively we will create the building blocks that we will use to develop a Call for Action at the Live event Feb 1, 2025.
5 predefined postpartum topics
The conversation is focused on five predefined Postpartum topics and the participants personal experience of these topics. What goes well and where do we need improvement?
Mothers experience a drastic change of their body after the pregnancy. It includes hormonal changes, uterine healing, lactation, and shifts in physical energy levels. This working group will talk about these physiological changes and the need for (what) education and support.
The postpartum period brings emotional highs and lows, including hormonal mood swings, baby blues, and the potential for postpartum depression (PPD) or anxiety (PPA). The group will share ideas, questions and insights on what goed well and where can we improve.
Social and practical postpartum empowerment involves creating a supportive environment to meet daily needs and reduce feelings of isolation. How to ensure an engaged and supporting informal network?
Informed choice ensures that parents have access to accurate, unbiased information to make decisions about their postpartum care and parenting practices. What care provider provides what information?
Returning to work postpartum involves balancing professional responsibilities with the physical, emotional, and logistical demands of new parenthood. How to relate to employers and work policies?
Online Dialogue Forum
We will host three online Dialogue Forums on Thursday the 16th of January, two in English and one in French.
The group will be hosted with one facilitator and one technical assistent. The participants will choose one of the Postpartum topics and split into smaller working groups. The groups are self initiating and will share their outcomes in online tool Mentimeter.
The Forum ends with results and feedback from the groups.
Local Dialogue Forum
Parallel to the online event, enthusiastic birth professionals have organised their own local, in person forum.
This in-person Dialogue is a great opportunity to engage your network in this topic , share ideas and make local connections. The schedule and outcome are more or less the same.
